Transmission Repair for Sunrise Drivers

Highway miles and parking lot traffic

Many Sunrise drivers commute on the Sawgrass Expressway, I-595, or I-75, then crawl through traffic around the Sawgrass shopping area. That mix is tough on a transmission. Long runs at speed build heat, and slow traffic means constant shifting. Both wear out the fluid over time.

CVTs are common in newer cars

Many newer sedans, compacts, and crossovers use a CVT (continuously variable transmission) instead of a traditional automatic. CVTs work differently and fail differently. Watch for these signs:

• A whine or drone that rises with speed
• A shudder or jerk when pulling away from a stop
• Engine revs climb but the car is slow to pick up speed
• A warning light, or the car going into a reduced power mode

CVT problems need a proper diagnosis. Some need only a fluid service with the correct fluid. Others need the unit repaired or replaced. We check it first and tell you which one you are dealing with, in writing.

Traditional automatics and manuals too

Not every Sunrise car has a CVT. We also diagnose and repair conventional automatics, including solenoids, valve bodies, torque converters, and leaks, and we work on manual transmissions and clutches. When a rebuild is the right call, it comes with a written warranty.

Getting here from Sunrise

Take Sunrise Boulevard or Oakland Park Boulevard east to State Road 7 (US 441), then head south past Broward Boulevard. We are a few blocks further, on the west side of the road near SW 6th Street. From the Sawgrass Expressway, I-595 east to the State Road 7 exit also works. Head north from there.
