A rebuilt 10L90 is the high-torque version of GM's 10-speed automatic, rebuilt in our Plantation, Florida shop for supercharged and twin-turbo performance cars and SUVs. About the 10L90
The 10L90 is the heavy-duty member of GM's 10-speed family. It first appeared in the 2017 Camaro ZL1, and GM later used it behind some of its most powerful engines, including the Cadillac CT6-V, the CT5-V Blackwing with the automatic and the Escalade-V. It follows the same basic layout as the 10L80, with parts built to take more torque. These are low-volume, high-value vehicles, and a transmission problem can park one for a long time. We build to your VIN so the unit matches your vehicle's exact setup.
What goes wrong with a 10L90
The 10L90 shares many of the 10L80's weak points. Valve body wear can let pressure leak, which shows up as harsh, jerky or late shifts. Torque converter shudder is also reported, and a failing converter clutch can put friction material into the fluid. Performance driving adds heat and load: launches, track days and power upgrades all push clutch packs harder than daily driving does. Once a slip starts, heat builds quickly, so it pays to stop driving hard on a unit that flares between gears.

Our rebuild starts with a VIN check, then a full teardown in our Plantation shop, new soft parts, replacement of worn hard parts and a torque converter for your application. That way the transmission that goes into your ZL1 or Cadillac matches your car, and you know exactly what is inside it. When it is finished, you can pick it up or have it shipped by freight.

10L90 questions
Is the 10L90 the same as the 10L80?
They share a design, but the 10L90 is built for more torque and the two are not swapped for each other. We confirm which unit you have from your VIN before the build.
Do the AWD Cadillacs use a different 10L90?
AWD vehicles like the CT6-V and Escalade-V bolt a transfer case to the transmission, so the rear of the unit differs from a rear-wheel drive Camaro or CT5-V. Send your VIN and we build the version your vehicle takes.
Will my car need programming after install?
Some units need a relearn or programming after install; we'll tell you if yours does. Expect the shift feel to settle in over the first drives as the adapts relearn.
How does a rebuilt 10L90 reach me?
You pay online, we VIN-check the order and rebuild the unit in Plantation. Pick it up at 631 S State Rd 7 or we ship it by freight. A refundable core deposit applies.
